We headed out this morning to Pont du Gard, the 2,000 year old aqueduct built by the Romans. Just like two years ago this is where we met up with the tour groups that come in the big buses. Like last time we hiked in (3.5 miles tound trip) where you walk along the path of the aqueduct before you get to Pont du Gard. We walked around the area and then had lunch over looking it.
We then headed off to the big city of Avignon and the bustling crowds. We took the self-guided tour of the Palace of the Popes which took about two hours.
Headed back home in some very heavy traffic. Stopped at the Super U to stock up on groceries and topped off the tank with diesel (getting 40+ MPG which is a good thing when diesel is 1.38 per liter - about $7 per gallon U.S.). Had some wine and left-overs from dinner last night.
Planning another hike for tomorrow - until then au revoir.
